A mortgage application needs a great deal about you, so it is worth being plain about what happens to it.

What we collect

• What you type into the enquiry form or tell us on the phone: name, contact details, and the outline of the case.
• If the case proceeds: income, outgoings, credit history and identification, because a lender will not decide without them.

Why

To give you advice and to submit an application on your instruction. We do not sell anything to anyone, and we do not pass your details to a lender until you have told us which lender.

How long

Six years after the last piece of advice, which is the period our regulator and our insurers require. Enquiries that go no further are deleted after twelve months.

Your rights

Ask us for a copy, a correction or a deletion at [email protected]. If we get it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
